We are excited to confirm that we are now offering a recruitment payment of £4,000 for Deputy Team Manager positions as well as relocation assistance of up to £5,000. 

At Gloucestershire County Council our service users at the heart of everything we do. We have an exciting opportunity for a new Deputy Team Manager to join our Over 11s team in Stroud. The successful candidates will be responsible for leading and managing a team involved with allocated casework.


About the opportunity


As statutory corporate parents, we have a duty of care for the young people who are in care and care leavers in Gloucestershire. It’s our responsibility to champion their needs and give them the best start in life. Adolescence is an incredibly important time in young people’s lives and we’re looking for a Deputy Team Manager who shares our passion for working alongside vulnerable young people, to support the Team Manager in one of our 11-25’s children in care and care leavers’ team.


The position is based within the Youth Support Team which is a multi-agency service in Gloucestershire. Here, you’ll have access to a range of seconded specialists – from Health, Police, Youth Offending / Probation, Education and Housing. This integrated approach means that you’ll have relevant professionals’ expertise as and when you need it, helping you get the quickest, most effective outcomes for young people.


About you


As a fully qualified registered Social Worker coming to us from a similar role, you’ll bring a proven track record of contributing to the development managing and developing teams, and achieving positive outcomes for Children in Care and/or Care Leavers. Flexible, open-minded and creative in your approach, we’d also like you to have an understanding of effective multi-agency working and helping to shape and evaluate services. You’re a leader by example, someone who can motivate, inspire and get the best from people. For this role you must hold the following:



  • A registered professional social work qualification

  • Registration with the Health Care Professional Council (HCPC)
