We are seeking to recruit an experienced Family Support Worker to join our Cheltenham Children and Families Team. The team is a friendly and supportive community based social work team in Cheltenham with an established good reputation amongst our partner agencies.

The post is part time, two days per week and we are seeking somebody who is committed to providing early intervention and targeted support to children, young people, and their families.


The purpose of the Family Support Worker role is to work alongside our social workers in ensuring we are able to improve the outcomes of children and their families through direct work and intervention.


You will participate in the development of the role across the locality and bring a creative approach to meeting the identified needs of children. In return, we will be able to offer you training to allow you to grow in the role. You will benefit from our commitment to provide excellent supervision and support. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced and dynamic multi professional team.


About you



  • Passionate about achieving the best outcomes for children through direct work

  • Creative and credible in your approach

  • Experience of multi agency working

  • Have experience of working in a front-line protection role

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and research
