This is a great opportunity to work with the management team at Gloucestershire Music (GM) and help to shape the music education offers within Gloucestershire.
The post holder will aim to ensure that Gloucestershire Music (GM) provides high quality, cost effective opportunities around the County that promote continuation and progression of musical skills from beginner to advanced levels. They will lead a team of tutors who will help to promote, develop and improve the standards of provision and teaching of music in county music groups and within music centres. The role will need to ensure GM meets the required aims, core and extension roles of the National Plan for Music Education (NPME) and as a member of the Music Service’s Senior Management group they will carry collective accountability with the Head of Service and other Senior Managers, for the achievement of the service’s strategic and service outcomes.
The applicant should have a background in music / music education and managerial experience would be highly desirable.
Flexible working is a necessity for this role with some evening and weekend working periods required when monitoring groups or conducting event management.
There is the potential for this role to increase in working hours if service area develops and the need arises.
There is also the opportunity for this post holder to run a county youth ensemble if the necessary skill and experience requirements are met.
