An opportunity has arisen for a Safety, Health and Environment Adviser to join our experienced team. You will be providing competent advice across all areas of SHE, but in particular we need a person that can lead the team’s COVID-19 response, assisting GCC and Gloucestershire schools to effectively put in place measures and ensure schools, our workplaces and sports grounds remain COVID secure.


The role will be mostly working remotely from home but require you to visit schools and GCC workplaces to undertake audits, investigations, fire risk assessments and COVID inspections. You will attend various meetings as a representative of the SHE team within GCC and externally.


Applicants require an understanding or relevant SHE legislation, codes of practice, guidance and other standards and must be able to source, understand and interpret COVID guidance relevant to educational settings, workplaces and sports grounds.


Applicants must have excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate and influence others to adopt and implement good practices.
