Would you like to work in a lively, dynamic, forward thinking environment where you can broaden your experience, and widen your horizons within a supportive team? If so, the Fostering Placement Finding Team and the Fostering Recruitment Team are looking for two qualified social workers. The Placement Finding Team, based in Gloucester, requires an additional part time fostering social worker, to help support those foster carers who care for children and young people who are high risk or who have more complex needs.

The Fostering Recruitment Team is a small supportive and committed team with a primary responsibility for recruiting, training and assessing individuals interested in becoming Foster Carers for GCC.  We  also additionally offer support to newly approved foster carers in their first year of fostering, providing focussed and responsive supervision and oversight  to help them meet the challenges of caring for Looked After Children whilst also fulfilling expectations re mandatory training, attendance at support groups and completion of Training Development Standards.

You will be joining a strong, stable leadership team within a forward thinking and progressive Fostering Resource and will have a varied range of responsibilities including supervision of carers, assessment of carers together with the opportunity to deliver information evenings, training and contribute to marketing activities.

It would therefore be beneficial, though not essential, if you have a working knowledge of Fostering Regulations and National Minimum standards.

You will need to be a qualified social worker and registered with HCPC. You will need to have experience of working with children and families, be a skilled communicator and have energy, drive and passion.
