Salary: £23,541 - £25,991 pro rota
Location:Shire Hall Complex - GL1 2TG
Closing date:30 October 2020 at midnight
The Highway Records Team is looking to recruit a permanent, part time Asset Data Technician (Grade 6, £23,541 - £25,991, pro rata), based within the 'Roads' part of the Team. The part time role is for 19 hours a week and will need to include Thursday and Friday (total hours/days may be negotiable).
The published Job Profile is generic to all Technicians in the wider department, but this role is to assist with answering 'Con29' property searches and highway boundary queries from both internal & external customers (including planning consultants, property purchasers, solicitors and members of the public). The successful candidate will also be assisting with the updating and maintenance of the Highway Records (including the List of Streets and National Street Gazetteer).
The work will involve use of both electronic & paper records, and the accurate recording of your findings. Experience of and/or a keen interest in GIS mapping (particularly QGIS), reading/analysing maps, and data entry & manipulation would therefore be an advantage.
You will need to be able to communicate professionally both over the phone and in writing, and have a good attention to detail. In order to help the Team achieve their targets, applicants will additionally need to be able to work quickly whilst maintaining accuracy, as we work to short deadlines.
The role is based at Shire Hall in Gloucester. However, at present, staff are partially working from home using GCC provided secure IT; therefore you will need to have sufficient home broadband capabilities. You will need to attend the office for training and will be expected to work predominantly from the office base in future, subject to the needs of the service.
