Finance Officer

Salary Range: £18,746 to £24,174

Part time, 25 hours per week - 5 hours per working day

Based in Gloucester

The County Council as administering authority of the Gloucestershire LGPS Pension Fund is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and self motivated finance professional to join its Pension Investments and Accounting team, to assist in the accounting and financial controls of the £2.0 billion Pension Fund.

You will provide financial support to employers, raise invoices, support the Finance Team in actuarial valuations and reporting under the Financial Reporting Standards. You will have proven experience in financial accounting as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a good understanding of accounting principles, and enjoy being part of a team. Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access database will be essential. You will need the ability to manage your workload while working to strict deadlines.

You should be part-qualified AAT (or equivalent) and actively pursuing the full qualification. You will benefit from our commitment to provide excellent supervision and support and to provide opportunities for you to learn and develop new skills and to broaden your experience.

Experience of working within Pensions Finance is desirable but not essential.
