Salary: Up to £37,306 per annum plus recruitment welcome payment of £3,000 for those with 2+ years post qualifying experience (pro-rata) for Children's Safeguarding teams
Hours: We are able to offer either full-time (37 hours) or job share (18.5 hours) contracts
Children’s Social Care in Gloucestershire operates a locality model with safeguarding teams based in Gloucester, Cheltenham, Tewkesbury, Cirencester; Stroud and Cinderford (Forest of Dean). In Gloucester City we have an innovative inner-city Pod model providing targeted attention on smaller areas of urban development with a series of small, supportive teams working closely with co-located multi-agency partners. We also have opportunities available in our Children in Care teams; our permanence team works countywide with Children in Care under 11 whereas our Over 11s teams work across larger geographical areas; these are based in Gloucester, Cheltenham & Stroud.

Gloucestershire County Council is looking to recruit dynamic and child focused Social Workers and Senior Practitioners with proven experience to join our growing workforce as we work together with the children and families of Gloucestershire to improve their outcomes and keep them safe.
Working at the heart of Children’s Services you’ll be responsible for carrying a case load of children in line with your experience and the organisational needs of the service, including Children in Need, Child Protection and Children in Care. You’ll carefully assess situations to make evidence-based decisions and interventions that achieve positive outcomes for children and be naturally passionate and absolutely committed to doing what’s right for children across Gloucestershire,
What we need from you
- You will be HCPC registered with recent statutory experience of working with families and protecting children who are in need and at risk. We need you to have experience of multi agency working and writing assessments and outcome focused plans with children and families.
- We’ll rely on your credible approach and passion for achieving the best outcomes for children through direct work.
- You’ll also prepare and present good quality written and oral reports, and maintain accurate and up to date case recording in line with our procedures.
- With good knowledge of relevant legislation, regulation and research - you’ll be ready to influence and embed positive change.
