An exciting opportunity exists for a full time (37 hours) H grade Iris Family Support Worker (Level 3) to join the (IRIS Edge of Care (DPST). The post includes direct work with children and their families (parenting, anger management, resilience and keep safe work). You will as a Family Support Worker work closely with the allocated social worker to help make plans for children and young people who have been identified as being in need of support so that they can remain living within their family or extended family.

You will be expected to provide services between the hours 7am and 10pm 7 days per week but only working 37 hours per week. Some of this work will be on a rota basis, doing shift work between 7am - 3pm or 2 -10pm. 7 days per week including rest days.

This busy but supportive team is committed to working with children and their families on a multi-agency, preventive basis to improve outcomes for children.

You will be required to be involved in on-going out of hour’s rota, including weekends, to provide support to known IRIS Edge of Care (DPST) families, services and to the Emergency Duty Team

You will have a minimum of a NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and / or have significant experience of working within the children and families field. You will possess good communication skills both written and verbal, with an ability to meet deadlines within a supportive management structure. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
