This is a chance to deliver high quality internal audit assurance across a diverse range of activities and services within our Audit, Risk and Assurance Shared Service (ARA) partner organisations and external clients.


We are looking to recruit a Principal Auditor who is self motivated with a positive, flexible approach and willingness to contribute towards our excellent reputation for providing respected audit, risk and assurance activity.


The successful candidate will be expected to be the lead point of contact for an audit portfolio within the Shared Service. Responsibilities would include undertaking high level assignments into complex and high risk areas, as well as being an activity manager on risk based internal audits within ARA. The post is also expected to have line management responsibilities.


You must be a member of a relevant professional body (e.g. CCAB, AAT or IIA) and be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of delivering and leading on risk based internal audits. Full understanding of the principles of internal audit and risk management are required. The successful candidate will be able to manage their allocated workload and meet deadlines/targets with minimum supervision. Strong communication, negotiating and influencing skills are essential, as you will have exposure to Members, senior officers and stakeholders within the ARA partners and clients.
