Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service are seeking to recruit a Technical Services Support Officer to join a dynamic team in support oftechnical assessment, procurement, maintenance and disposal of Service equipment and the co-ordination and promulgation of equipment evaluation and research projects being undertaken in the Service.

As a member of the Technical Services Team the post holder will support Technical Services, Fleet Management and ICT Teams to deliver a high quality support function for the Fire and Rescue Service.

We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our Technical Services Team based at our Headquarters near Gloucester as a Technical Services Support Officer.


The key function of the role is to provide support for the technical assessment, procurement, maintenance and disposal of Service equipment and the co-ordination and promulgation of equipment evaluation and research projects being undertaken in the Service.


The post holder will be required to work to exacting standards to ensure that effective and efficient support is in place to underpin the operational role of the Fire and Rescue Service.


The successful applicant will therefore ideally possess the following skills or experience:



  • Good general standard of education particularly English, Maths and Physics.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Fire and or Technical assessment role.

  • A full clean UK driving license

  • LGV category C driving licence desirable.
