Gloucester City Council Vacancy

Gloucester City Council is an ambitious council with big ideas. Housing Services have undergone significant change and transformed its housing service in light of the Homelessness Reduction Act and striving for further improvement.

Gloucester is a small, historic and vibrant city on the edge of the Cotswolds and conveniently located along the M5 with good transport links to the rest of the country. Our offices will shortly relocate from the historic docks to Shire Hall, Westgate St.

Our housing service incorporates ‘choice based lettings’, homelessness advice and private sector housing services. This position is one of three team leaders. This position is one of two team leaders who share responsibility for over-seeing lettings and homelessness.

You will ideally be qualified to graduate level or be able to demonstrate significant professional experience in delivering a housing service concerning Parts 6 & 7 of Housing Act and Homelessness Reduction Act. A relevant professional qualification is desirable. Experience including S202 reviews, supervisory and performance monitoring skills will be an advantage. You will be have or be developing your own leadership skills and have good communication, organisational and time management skills, and be able to work as part of a team or on your own initiative.

Following promotion of the previous post-holder, Housing Services are excited about the prospect of a new energetic self- starter who can bring out the best of those in their team. This is an amazing chance for ambitious professionals who have a passion for housing and team work. A package of training will be planned in order to support your development. If you want to be a part of these exciting changes please apply.

For an informal discussion please contact Helen Chard on 01452 396534 or Michelle Wheatley on 01452 396991.
