We are looking for an experienced Social Care Support worker to join our Gloucester Locality team as a Social Care Assessor. This is an exciting time to join us, as Adult Social Care is on an exciting innovation journey, which focuses our approach into being more creative, strengths-based and person-centered. With us you will be in a great place for professional and personal development with all the benefits that Gloucestershire has to offer!

As a Social Care Assessor, the work will be challenging, with a constantly changing caseload. You will be involved in assessing the needs of older people and adults who have a physical disability or an appearance of need and their carers within the community and recommending support plans to meet eligible needs.

The work is focused on promoting independence, enabling our service users to remain in their own homes and reduce the need for hospital admission or long term care. We can offer a supportive well-established team environment and regular supervision.

You will also need to be reliable, skilled at working as part of a team, flexible, have good communication and IT skills, and be able to work from other locality bases if required. We can offer rewarding work within a multidisciplinary setting, full induction and appropriate training, continued professional development to help you progress in your career, and the experience and support of an established and dedicated team. You can see our career framework by clicking here.

Working in the Gloucester Locality you will be based at Shire Hall, but part of a wider Adult Social Care team.
