Admin Assistant - Adoption West, Gloucester Hub
Temporary position (Part Time / 18.5 hours)
Adoption West was launched in March 2019 as a collaborative venture between Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Councils to provide a regional adoption service.
This is an exciting time to join Adoption West as we build on the solid foundations already in place, and aim to improve performance in meeting the needs of those children who require permanence through adoption by:
- reducing the time that children have to wait for adoptive placements
- improving the experience for prospective adopters from initial inquiry, through the assessment process, panel approval and placement matching and the delivery of post adoption support services.
Adoption West operates via 3 hubs across the region. Each Adoption Hub provides all aspects of adoption recruitment, assessment, family finding and the coordination of adoption support services.
Adoption West currently have the following vacancy within the Gloucester Hub:
Shire Hall, Gloucester
Temporary (1 year Maternity cover), Part Time (18.5 hrs), £18,426 – £19,171 pro rata
The overall responsibilities of the service/function are:
To provide fully responsive and flexible business support to the service; providing a full range of administrative and processing services to a variety of practitioners and managers within the team and wider service.
To participate in the full range of customer care and receptionist/telephonist services, as required.
To be part of the wider Business Support team ensuring that all systems and processes are maintained and developed to meet the performance needs of the service.
The service deals with matters relating to child protection, Children in Need and Children in Care. The daily working environment for all administrative staff therefore necessitates dealing with distressing and sensitive information.
Adoption West is a learning organisation and are committed to enabling the post holder to grow and develop in the role.
This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and will require an Enhanced DBS check before appointment can be confirmed.
