Inclusion Gloucestershire are looking for an Volunteering and Advocacy Peer Mentor


Engaging with people is at the heart of everything Inclusion Gloucestershire does, and as a user-led organisation it is vital that both our staff and our members are supported to be fully included and reach their potential. This role sits within the Engagement team in an exciting new project, funded by the National Lottery developing Inclusion Gloucestershire’s Volunteer and Advocacy offer. The advocacy and mentoring will be aimed at disabled people and those with autism and mental ill health who are not eligible to access existing services, helping more people to reach their potential and access services by supporting them at the earliest possible stage, reducing isolation and preventing them from reaching crisis point. The team will design and deliver group sessions themed around topics such as employment, housing and independence, as well as individual one-to-one support with individually defined areas of need relating to confidence building, relationships and community access.
Role Purpose: To be a visible peer lead for the Volunteer and Advocacy team, making Inclusion Gloucestershire a welcoming safe space and supporting people to have a voice and advocate for themselves or others.


Hours and pay:

Hours: 8 per week


Contract: Permanent, subject to ongoing funding
 
Pension:  IG operates the NEST pension scheme and will contribute 3% subject to qualifying status


Salary:  £17,004 pro rata  (£8.72 per hour)

Holiday:  28 days + bank holidays pro rata
