Gloucestershire’s Integrated Brokerage Team is looking for a Commissioning Officer who will support the commissioning of placements in residential and nursing homes.

The post holder will work as part of a team of Commissioning Officers to manage and quality assure provision that meet the needs of vulnerable service users and will focus predominantly on one of our care home providers who we contract to provide almost half of our purchased care home beds.

The post holder will undertake the contract monitoring for the homes included in the care home block contract and will be the liaison with regard to this provider and support any procurement processes that might arise. The role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills and the post holder will be required to build and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships and have exclusive overview of this provider. The position is dynamic and you will be expected to multitask, highlighting opportunities and risks to managers and Heads of Integrated Commissioning as appropriate.

You will need to be flexible, resilient, organised and calm under pressure. You should also be willing to take on new challenges as they arise. Experience of working with providers and of commissioning care and support for individuals is required.
