An opportunity has arisen for a full time (37 hours) 7 grade, placement finding officer within the inhouse placement finding team. The role includes taking referrals for foster care placements, identifying and analysing risks and matching issues, working closely with fostering social workers, social care colleagues and foster carers.


The role is primarily office based, however you will also have the opportunity to attend relevant training within the fostering resource, and co run a support group.


 


This busy but supportive team is committed to working alongside GCC approved foster carers and their families, to ensure that children and young people are offered high quality placements.


 


You will have a minimum of a NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and / or have significant experience of working with children and families or foster carers in a social care context. You will possess good communication skills both written and verbal, are creative and flexible with an ability to meet deadlines within a supportive management structure. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.
