Local authorities are central to supporting the national response to controlling COVID-19. Gloucestershire has developed a local outbreak management plan and response plan, working with stakeholders, which focuses on identifying, assessing and containing potential outbreaks in places such as care homes and schools.  

The Covid-19 Hub has been set up to help prevent and control the Covid-19 virus and enable people to live a safer and more normal life, this has been introduced across England as part of the Test and Trace designated service. The Covid-19 Hub Manager has a key role in leading and supporting a team of 6-7 Health Protection Practitioners who will provide 7 day rota cover which will involve working regularly at the weekend.

We require an experienced manager to lead, manage, guide and oversee the Health Protection Practitioners while working with senior managers, partners including wider organisations to ensure that the Outbreak Control Plan is implemented effectively for Gloucestershire.

You must have experience of:

  • Effective team development such as implementing key projects

  • Effectively manage a team particularly in an area where there is media and stakeholder interest in results

  • Work with individuals to develop strengths and ability to resolve conflict

  • Manage a complex workload, work well under pressure and meet deadlines

 You may also have experience of:

  • Managing budgets

  • Monitoring and evaluating outcomes

  • Ability to deliver organisational priorities

 Key attributes include:

  • Remaining calm and focused

  • Approachable manner and be able to engage with a range of people positively

The role may require weekend and out of hours working as a key feature of the post.
