We are seeking an outstanding consultant in Public Health / Public Health Medicine. Based within the Prevention, Wellbeing and Communities hub of Gloucestershire County Council, you will work closely with the Director of Public Health, members of the public health team and colleagues across partner organisations.

You will fulfil a generic public health consultant role, but have a primary focus on topic areas such as; health protection and Covid-19 response and recovery.

Being on the GMC/GDC Specialist Register/UK Voluntary Register for Public Health Specialists is an essential requirement.  Alongside your excellent leadership skills, you will be able to demonstrate a strong track record of working in these areas of public health.   Developing powerful relationships with partners and stakeholders you will influence local commissioning to deliver better health outcomes and reduce health inequalities.  As one of the leading commissioning councils in the country this role provides a huge opportunity to drive the public health agenda forward. With the commissioning model and outcomes framework, this role will have a real opportunity to integrate the public health responsibilities into the core business of the council whilst ensuring that it meets its new duties under the Health and Social Care Act 2012.
