Looking for your next challenge? Then Gloucestershire County Council is hoping to hear from you! We are continuously on the lookout for talented social workers that will make a difference to the lives of Gloucestershire's young people. Can you make that difference? If so, get in touch!
Our Vision: Committed to building the best, our Children’s Services are looking for high calibre social workers with a track record of excellence, commitment and delivery to the highest standards, securing the best outcomes for the children and young people with whom they work.
You will be joining an authority with a strong set of values that underpins the work we do; values of Accountability, Empowerment, Excellence, Integrity and Respect. For more information about our values, please click here.
Your role: You will be based in the Emergency Duty Team which is a small bespoke service that responds to emergencies out of hours. Your role will involve working within a small and supportive team of Senior Social Workers where you will be prioritising effectively and making sound judgements in a variety of challenging situations. The Emergency Duty Team works closely with other agencies that also work out of hours both in the voluntary and statutory sectors. This position offers the opportunity to broaden your skillset and experience further. You will work to a rolling rota which includes weekend and night working and longer shifts than day time teams, however you will also have two weeks off in every four weeks.
Whilst there is a management support 24/7, overnight shifts require skill and experience and ability to work autonomously at times, therefore it is a requirement you have a minimum of three years post qualifying experience of front line work with children and families or adult care services. You will need to be suitably experienced and confident in order to make decisions on emergency situations out of hours.
To be successfully appointed you will need:
- Social Work England registration
- A recognised qualification in Social Work
- To have passed your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
- A full driving licence and willingness to drive
- DBS clearance
