Hesters Way, Hucclecote, Cheltenham 4hr & 5hr – all fixed term, up to 1 year from start date.
Gloucester and Cheltenham 6.5 hr – Maternity, up to 9 months from start date.

We are currently looking for members of staff to help us deliver this excellent customer service at various locations within the Cheltenham and Gloucester areas. These are 6 separate positions, at the individual libraries listed, but are all Library Assistant roles. All positions are Saturday working only.
You will need a good IT and digital skills, enjoy working as part of a team, yet still able to use your own initiative and be able to use our resources in order to answer the wide range of enquiries we receive.
You will proactively promote the library and children’s services, participate in any activities and outreach work, and maintain a good knowledge of the library services in order to help customers gain maximum use of the facilities.
Community is key within branch libraries. You will work within passionate teams to engage with the local community, encountering people from all walks of life, exhibiting a wide range of behaviours. This can sometimes be challenging, and thus, personal resilience is a skill highly advantageous to this role.
No formal library qualifications are required but demonstrated, high quality customer service experience is needed.
Patterns of hours for each post are within ‘Additional Information’. During Covid 19 recovery, hours are subject to change. However, during regular services, these are fixed patterns. Please ensure you have read these and the accompanying Job Profile before applying.
