Gloucestershire Hospital Education Service (GHES) is a registered PRU (Ofsted Outstanding School 2016/17) educating young people who are medically unable to attend school and supporting school-aged mothers during their maternity leave. We are looking for a full-time teacher of Science to join our service.

We require an outstanding teacher of Science to join our outreach team. We teach Science to all of our students who are with us from reception to Year 11. Our biggest cohort of students is in KS4, where we teach Combined Science and the Single Sciences.

The ability to teach a second subject, such as Maths, would be advantageous.

Most of our teaching has been online for a number of years to allow us to accommodate more students. However we do also teach students face to face in the home or at one of our classrooms in outpatients.

During the year our student numbers rise and fall, so the successful candidate needs to be flexible with working patterns within a school day, and the ability to deal well with students flowing in and out of groups.

We serve the county of Gloucestershire, and students can be located anywhere within that. Therefore it is essential that candidates hold a full driving license and have use of a car.

If you are an outstanding teacher of Science, are looking to apply your teaching skills and experience in a very different setting, have a great deal of empathy and commitment to making a difference to every child you work with, then please get in touch to find out more information.

If you would like more information please email ghes@gloucestershire.gov.uk

When completing the GCC application form please ensure you not only tell us about your relevant experience, but why you would like to be a teacher within our service. If you are able to offer a second subject please include this and to what level you would be able to teach this to.

Position is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure check.
