This is an exciting opportunity to join the Local Resilience Forum (LRF) in Gloucestershire.
The Local Resilience Forum is a partnership of emergency responders such as the emergency services, local authorities, utility companies who work together to ensure that Gloucestershire can effectively prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
We are seeking to appoint a LRF Deputy Manager to support the LRF Secretariat Manager in all duties. This will include working closely with partner agencies and Central Government to ensure Gloucestershire meets its requirements under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a LRF, the ability to forge strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and to respond to the demands of shifting priorities and unplanned events.
We are looking for someone who is educated to degree level (or equivalent experience), self-motivated and able to use initiative to progress project work. They will also be experienced in the collation of information and production of clear and concise reports.
The role is varied and the successful candidate will be required to carry out a wide range of tasks such as: support LRF Sub Groups, help embed lessons learnt from emergencies, drive the risk assessment process forward, provide presentations to a wide range of stakeholder, assist with training, and act as a Strategic and Tactical advisor to Command and Control Groups.
The successful candidate may be asked to represent the LRF and Gloucestershire at regional and National meetings.
In the event of a large emergency there may be a requirement to work evenings and weekends.
The role is based at Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Headquarters in Quedgeley, Gloucester and is full time, 37 hours per week on a two year fixed term contract. Reduced hours can be considered.
This role requires security vetting, this can be arranged on appointment.
